Here are ten things we have learned after two events in 2015. The Epson Tour is off until the Florida swing begins with the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic at Lake Wales Country Club March 27-29.

10 – Hannah O’Sullivan, the 16-year-old that won the Gateway Classic at Longbow Golf Club, is really good. Ask around the Tour, people that played practice rounds with her and those that were paired with her. Yes, she had the home court advantage, but she also had a six shot lead at the turn on Sunday and coasted to victory over professionals. It wasn’t a fluke. She has a chance to Monday qualify for the JTBC Founders Cup. It would be interesting to see how she fares in an LPGA Tour event.

9 – Lee Lopez’s time to win on the Epson Tour will come. The Whittier, California native had a three shot lead with four holes to play on Sunday in California, but was reeled in by Katie Kempter, who birdied her final three holes and then won in a playoff. Lopez finished 14^th on the Volvik Race for the Card money list in 2014. She is third on the money list through two events in 2015. In 22 career Epson Tour events, she has seven top 10 finishes. Last year, she finished solo second at the Four Winds Invitational. She is gaining more and more experience playing in the final group and her time to hoist a trophy is no doubt on its way.

8 – Katie Kempter has a really good short game. There were moments on the second playoff hole when Lee Lopez looked like she had the upper hand. Kempter tee’d first and sent her tee shot into the right fairway bunker. Lopez was in the middle of the fairway. Then, Kempter’s fairway bunker short went long and left creating a challenging up and down, which she converted. Lopez lipped out a par putt and Kempter won. Kempter had the flatstick working all week. She attempted 29 putts on Friday, 28 on Saturday and 26 on Sunday.

7 – Ginger Howard may be back to the form that had her pegged as a prodigy. Four years ago, when Howard turned professional right out of high school, some labeled her as the next golf star. She finished in the top 40 on the Epson Tour money list in 2012 and 2013, but then slipped to 78^th in 2014 and went all year without a top 10 finish. Howard posted by far the most impressive round of the year when she turned in a 69 on Sunday in far from optimal conditions. Of the 80 players that started, she was the only to crack the 60’s. Further, 67 players finished 75 or worse.

6 – Keep an eye on Japan players Chie Arimura and Haruka Morita-WanyaoLu. During LPGA Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach, a fairly large contingent of Japanese media members followed the every move of Arimura and Morita-WanyaoLu. Both played in the first two Epson Tour events of the year and played well. They are 18^th and 19^th respectively on the Volvik Race for the Card money list. Arimura finished in a tie for ninth at the Volvik Championship while Morita-WanyaoLu finished in the top 25 in both events.

5 – Brianna Do is ready to contend for a full-time card. In 12 events last year, Do posted one top 10 finish. In two events this year, she has two top 10 finishes. The UCLA graduate had conditional LPGA Tour status and was zig-zagging the country playing Epson Tour events and LPGA Tour events. The focus this year is the Epson Tour and she finished in a tie for fourth in each of the first two.

4 – Same story holds true for Stephanie Kono. Hawaii native Stephanie Kono, who grew up with Michelle Wie, had just one top 10 finish in 2014 and already has a pair in 2015. She finished in a tie for fourth in Mesa and a tie for ninth in Beaumont. She posted one of the better Sunday rounds at the Volvik Championship, a 74, which included an eagle from 131-yards out. Kono qualified for the LPGA Tour during her senior year at UCLA in 2012, but wasn’t able to maintain her card. She has the experience and now lives and trains in Jupiter, Florida, surrounded by great coaches, trainers and top male and female Tour professionals.

3 – Veterans will dominate the early part of the year. There were 27 LPGA Tour members in the first two events so it’s not surprising that only one rookie is in the top 15 on the Volvik Race for the Card money list after two events (Lucianne Lee). Take it a step further and look at the top 10. Seven of them have LPGA Tour experience.

2 – Maude-Aimee Leblanc’s time will come. The Canadian had a three shot lead heading into Sunday at the Volvik Championship, but carded an 8-over 80 and finished in a tie for fourth. Leblanc was a star at Purdue and her time to win on the Epson Tour will absolutely come. She had the lead heading into the final round last year at the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic, but finished T2 when Cindy Feng posted a 67. Leblanc also had a two stroke lead heading into the final round of the Epson Tour Championship last year (with a chance to secure her card), but posted a 74 on the final day to finish T4.

1 – The early season is important, but no need to panic for anyone. The Epson Tour’s Volvik Race for the Card money list doesn’t start really shaking out until midway through the season. Five of the ten players that finished in the top 10 last year, were not in the top 10 after two events. Mallory Blackwelder didn’t enter the top 10 until nine events into the year. There are still 21 opportunities for players to earn a winner’s check of $15,000, $18,750, 22,500 or $30,000 depending on the purse size. The player that wins the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic is guaranteed to enter the top 10, regardless of their current position.
