The Donald Ross Centennial Classic at French Lick Resort begins on Friday at 7:30 a.m. Here is a look at who is playing well entering the 13th event of the season. There are major implications this week as the purse is $200,000 and the winner’s payout is $30,000.

Yu Liu Nobody is in a better rhythm than Yu liu – who won last week at the Tullymore Classic with 22 birdies and a 3-day score of 16-under. The week prior, Liu finished in a tie for fifth at the Island Resort Championship so she has placed inside the top five in the last two events. Liu is aiming to become the second player from China since 2014 to graduate from the Epson Tour to the LPGA. Yueer Cindy Feng did so three years ago.

Emma Talley – a 3-time Kentucky state champion in high school – is also playing about as well as anyone on Tour. She ranks fourth on the Volvik Race for the Card money list because of the last four weeks when she has earned $32,451 of the $44,977 that she has earned in total. Talley earned her first career win at the rain-shortned Island Resort Championship two weeks ago. She finished T5 at the Decatur-Forsyth Classic the week prior and T8 a month ago at the Four Winds Invitational. Talley has six top 10 finishes this season.

Sophia Popov has moved into the top 10 on the money list because of three top 10 finishes in the last four events. She finished T2 last week at the Tullymore Classic and T5 the week prior at the Island Resort Championship. Popov has been under-par in 11 straight rounds (-28 total).

Jessica Welch of Thomasville, Georgia has two top three finishes in the last three events to move up to No. 27 on the money list. Prior to the Decatur-Forsyth Classic (when she tied for third), she ranked No. 124 on the money list. Welch missed the cut in two of her first three starts, but has acclimated well and has made the cut in three of her last four events.

Mind The longest name on Tour – Mind Muangkhumsakul of Thailand – has finished inside the top 10 in back-to-back events. She finished sixth last week at the Tullymore Classic and T5 at the Island Resort Championship the week prior. She is 17-under in the last two events. Muangkhumsakul turned professional when she was 14 and is a rookie on the Epson Tour.
