After holding the 18-hole advantage, Kyung Kim (Chandler, Arizona) struggled with the wind on Saturday, shooting a 1-over par 73 to enter the final round alone in third, two shots off the pace.

“The wind was brutal. My game today was the opposite of yesterday,” said Kim. “I didn’t hit that many fairways, I didn’t hit that many greens. It was more me out there trying to save pars here and there. I made some good par saves and only had two birdies today but those both helped my round keep going.

“After I made birdie on No. 11, I hit it into the bunker, and I left it about 10 feet short. In my head I really didn’t want to make a bogey right after I made birdie, so once I made that I think it helped me keep my momentum going through the back nine today,” said Kim.”

Since turning professional in 2017, the three-time All-Pac 12 First Team performer for the University of Southern California has claimed eleven top-10 finishes on the “Road to the LPGA.” Her career-best finish was solo-third at the 2019 Florida’s Natural Charity Classic. Two years later, Kim sports Florida’s Natural on her golf bag and will playing in the final pairing tomorrow looking for her first win.
