Heading into the 2024 season, her second full season on the Epson Tour, Brooke Matthews had yet to finish an event in the top 10. That quickly changed for the former University of Arkansas Razorback, who secured a tie for eighth place result at the season-opening Florida's Natural Charity Classic. The start of the season reflected how far Matthew's game has come since the last time she teed it up in an Epson Tour event.

While Matthews' 2023 season ended on a strong note, with three of the last four cuts made but no top-20 finishes, her 2024 campaign started with a significant breakthrough. She earned her first top-10 finish in Winter Haven, Fla., it was the first of four top-10 finishes, marking a pivotal turning point in her career. The Midwest stretch was particularly fruitful, with three top-10 finishes in a four-week period, including a career-best runner-up finish at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, followed by a tie for third place finish at the Otter Creek Championship.

Matthews attributes her recent success to her coach, stating, "I think my game is kind of in the right spot at the right time. I am also working hard with my coach back at home. I started out with a tie for second finish in Battle Creek, so that boosted my confidence, and I was able to back it up with a third at Otter Creek, which was nice."

The final event of the stretch was in Garden City, Kas., and coming off a missed cut at the Island Resort Championship, Matthews was looking for redemption to close out the grueling four-week swing. She played steady throughout the week, posting three straight under-par rounds. Her best of the week came in the final round, moving her to tie for seventh for the tournament and into the top 10 in the Race for the Card standings.

Reflecting on her performance at the Island Resort Championship, where she missed the cut by one, Matthews maintained a positive outlook. She acknowledged that she 'fell on the off side of the wave but was pleased to have bounced back at Garden City with some strong rounds.'
