The fall of every professional golf season brings with it LPGA and PGA Tour Qualifying Schools, and it’s now the time of year that many athletes are feeling the pressure of pursuing membership on a pro circuit next season.

Support systems are imperative when trying to make it out of every stage of Q-School unscathed, and luckily, siblings Sarah and Brett White have each other to lean on during those stressful times, especially as they both enter the final round of their respective tournaments on Oct. 25.

Sarah, who has played on the Epson Tour since 2020, has been competing at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla., this week at the Qualifying portion of the LPGA Qualifying Series. After posting a 5-under 67 on Moving Day, the Texas resident now sits at 3-under and in a tie for 34th with 18 holes to play, moving up from T97 after Wednesday’s second round. But to advance to Final Qualifying, where 25 LPGA Tour cards will ultimately be given out, White needs to finish in the top 35 and ties come Friday’s end.

“The first two days with the wind were very tough for everybody, and I was playing really good golf. Just a few putts didn't fall, and thankfully, today, I didn't actually stray from much,” said White following her third round. “I trusted my lines, got a little more aggressive to the pins because I could with the less wind, and the putts started to drop a little bit. I still left a few out there, but I'm going into (Friday) keeping my same rhythm and everything like that because I know that I've been playing good golf, and it's going to start paying off.”

Sarah’s brother, Brett, is currently going through the same process on the Korn Ferry and PGA Tours but finds himself in a bit of a different scenario than his sister. Thanks to an opening 10-under 62 and third-round 66, Brett is leading the first stage of PGA Tour Q-School presented by Korn Ferry, where the top 21 players and ties will advance to the Second Stage.

With both siblings teeing it up in a nerve-wracking final round on Friday, they lean on each other more than anything to get through.

“Before we both left, we played golf together, just seeing where each other was at,” said Sarah. “We were both kind of struggling with the same thing, so we played together. We see the same swing coach, so we both got a lesson, and we're just kind of chatting back and forth, texting each other like, 'Hey, you got this,' stuff like that.

“Both things that we know, but it's good having someone that's been there. Our entire family in our family group chat is supporting us, but at the end of the day, nobody understands except for each other. It's really good to have that support and know what we're both feeling going into our final day.”

Sarah tees off on the first hole of Plantation Golf and Country Club’s Panther Course at 1:28 p.m. local time, while Brett is off the first hole of Magnolia Grove Golf Course’s Crossing Course at 10:25 a.m. local time.

If Sarah is able to finish in the top 35 and advance to the Final Stage of the LPGA Qualifying Series, she will be able to lean on her brother more than ever later this year, as Sarah will be competing at Magnolia Grove Golf Course in early December.
