The conclusion of LPGA Q-Series is here, with 99 athletes teeing it up in Mobile, Ala., for Final Qualifying. While the tournament has seen changes throughout the years, there will still be life-changing moments for athletes who receive an LPGA Tour card after five rounds of intense competition. Here are three things to know about the Final Qualifying portion of LPGA Q-Series:

Format Change

One big change for this year’s Final Qualifying tournament is the shift from six rounds of play to five. The 99-player field will compete over 90 holes of stroke play if they make the cut, which will see the field lessened to the top 65 and ties after 72 holes have been completed. The tournament will take place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove with the first four rounds being split between the Crossings and Falls Course. Athletes will play each course twice with the top 65 and ties advancing to the final round on the Crossings Course.

25 LPGA Tour Cards Up for Grabs

Announced in February of 2024, LPGA Tour cards will now only be awarded to athletes that finish in the top 25 and ties at the conclusion of Final Qualifying. In 2023, athletes who finished in the top 45 and ties were eligible to earn LPGA Tour Membership for the 2024 season. This change will allow all athletes earning LPGA Tour Membership from Q-Series better access to LPGA Official Tournaments and place greater emphasis on rewarding full-season performance. Notable Names Competing

The 2024 field is stacked with talent, ranging from Epson and LPGA Tour winners to former world-ranked amateurs. Among the 99-player field, 13 have made it through the first two stages, beginning their Q-Series journey in August at Pre-Qualifying. Notable names that will tee it up include LPGA Tour winners Bronte Law, Pernilla Lindberg, Azahara Munoz and Sophia Popov, as well as 2024 Epson Tour champions Briana Chacon, Heather Lin, Valery Plata and Savannah Vilaubi.
