The offseason in golf mostly revolves around visiting friends and family, working on your game, and most importantly, relaxing. Su Oh got to check all three items off that list during her competitive break and even added her first professional win since 2022 to her resume, collecting the 2025 Vic Open title in her home country of Australia.

“It was nice because I've been working really hard and no results,” said Oh. “Then we had a crazy wind day, and I was like seven shots back, so I was like today is the only day when you can catch up that many strokes. It was nice seeing some results and hopefully keep it going.”

The win comes after a few tough years, which saw the Aussie slip down the LPGA Tour Priority List, moving from a full-time LPGA Tour member to a dual LPGA and Epson Tour member in 2023. Over the past few seasons, Oh has split time almost evenly, spending most of her season in 2023 on the LPGA Tour and a majority of her 2024 season on the Epson Tour, teeing it up in 16 LPGA events and 14 Epson Tour total events since holding dual status.

During her time on the LPGA Tour, Oh showed plenty of promise. As a rookie in 2016, the Aussie made 17 of 22 cuts, which included a runner-up finish at the Kingsmill Championship presented by JTBC in just her sixth start. Several strong years followed, with Oh never finishing outside of the top 85 on the Official Money List until her 2022 campaign.

That year was when things started to get shaky for the veteran. After five successful seasons on the best tour in women’s golf, Oh found herself struggling to make cuts. The 2022 season only saw Oh work on the weekend nine times and only manage to earn a season-best finish of 18th, a position she was not familiar with so far in her career.

In 2023, the now 28-year-old teed it up for the first time ever in an Epson Tour event at the Copper Rock Championship, where she finished fifth for the week and carded one of the lowest rounds of the tournament, firing a bogey-free 9-under 63 on the final day. The LPGA Tour season in 2023 was not as kind to Oh, however, as she made just over half of her cuts, which put her on track for another dual membership season.

In 2024, Oh played nearly all of her events on the Epson Tour, making just three cuts and finishing outside the top 100 in the Race for the Card, with the worst made-cut percentage of her career.

Now, in 2025, Oh is on a mission to regain full LPGA Tour status for 2026 and is confident in her ability to do just that after winning for the first time in several years over a historically good field at the Vic Open, joining a list of past champions that includes Olympian Ashley Lau and LPGA Tour member, Hannah Green, the latter of whom happens to be one of Oh’s good friends.

“Just the list of players that's won that event, a lot of good players have won it,” explained Oh. “Hannah (Green) and I spent a lot of time together in the offseason. I stayed at her house, and she was just being a really good host. We spent a lot of time in January together, and she's a very good influence. She works hard, but we sort of like the same things, so it was a bit of hard-working, but also, it was just nice to have a friend.”

The 2025 Epson Tour season is about to begin in the United States for the Aussie, who will be teeing it up this week at the Central Florida Championship for the second year in a row. But even with the uncertainty of this upcoming year on the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA, Oh is already off to a good start as she eyes a return to the LPGA Tour full-time in 2026.
